2020 Toyota Highlander shows its Face at 2019 Miami International Auto Show

Toyota has kept the 2020 Highlander's update under wraps, ensuring its design is perfect for the slated December launch. Attendees at the Miami Auto Show got a sneak peek at the redesigned 2020 Toyota Highlander, and the mid-size, family SUV is looking better than ever before.

After the RAV4 got a facelift, Toyota knew the Highlander was next in line. Originally launched in 2001, the Highlander has been a staple on the streets and a reliable ride for families ever since. Bold, distinctive design accentuates the three-row SUV quite nicely and allows it to play older-sibling to the RAV4. Built with safety, quality, comfort, reliability and durability in mind, the 2020 Highlander sits on four-wheel independent suspension and Toyota’s New Generation Architecture (TNGA-K). Five trims will launch with the 2020 Highlander: the L, LE, XLE, Limited and opulent Platinum trim.

Available as both a gas model and a hybrid, the 2020 Highlander takes advantage of cutting-edge technology and modern efficiency. The gas version Highlander receives 22 mpg combined fuel economy while the hybrid nets itself 34 mpg combined fuel economy. The 2020 Highlander Hybrid sits on Toyota’s new-generation hybrid system. A high-efficiency 2.5-liter DOHC four-cylinder engine with two-electric motors powers the Highlander Hybrid, while the gas engine features a VVT intelligent system with electric motor, VVT-iE on the intake camshaft and a VVT-i exhaust camshaft. Toyota’s pulling out all the stops, y’all. Check out the full press release from Toyota for more information on the 2020 Highlander.
